What is an Aetna Medicare Advantage PPO plan?
A preferred provider organization (PPO) plan gives you more options. You have the ability to choose any doctor, specialist, hospital or other health care provider who accepts Medicare and the Aetna plan terms.
Your out-of-pocket costs may be lower if you visit providers in the plan’s network, however.
Do Aetna Medicare Advantage PPO plans require referrals?
As a member of an Aetna Medicare Advantage PPO plan, you don’t need a referral from a PCP before visiting a hospital or a specialist. But you should first make sure they do accept Medicare and the terms of the Aetna plan.
