Aetna Medicare Star Ratings

Each year, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) release Star Ratings that measure the performance of Medicare Advantage plans.

For 2022, Aetna Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plans earned an overall weighted average rating of 4.29 out of 5 stars. The majority of Aetna Medicare plan members are in a plan rated 4.5 stars or higher out of 5 stars.2

These reviews rate Medicare Advantage plans based on:

  • Member complaints
  • Health plan customer service
  • Member experience with the plan
  • Management of chronic conditions

According to Medicare.gov, the ratings range from one star (poor) to five stars (excellent).

Aetna financial strength ratings

Aetna ranked among the top nine in overall Medicare Advantage plan customer satisfaction in 2021, according to J.D. Power, largely due to the company’s dedicated customer service efforts.5

Aetna Medicare Advantage plan members can use the phone number listed on their plan ID card to contact a live customer service representative. Plan members can also chat online with an Aetna representative, or they can contact the company by email or even reach out on Twitter. 

The Aetna online member account also allows beneficiaries to locate doctors, find prescriptions and their costs, access various Medicare forms, pay their premiums, check claim statuses, request a replacement Aetna Medicare card and more.
