Aetna Medicare Star Ratings

Each year, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) release Star Ratings that measure the performance of Medicare Advantage plans.1

For 2019, Aetna Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plans earned an overall weighted average rating of 4 out of 5 stars. The majority of Aetna Medicare plan members are in a plan rated 4 stars or higher out of 5 stars.2

These ratings evaluate Medicare Advantage plans based on:

  • Staying healthy
  • Member complaints
  • Health plan customer service
  • Member experience with the plan
  • Management of chronic conditions

According to Medicare.gov, the ratings range from one star (poor) to five stars (excellent).
