While Medicare Part A and Part B (also known as Original Medicare) offer only limited vision coverage, some Cigna-HealthSpring Medicare Advantage plans offer coverage for certain vision care services.

Original Medicare only covers routine eye exams for people with diabetes. Glaucoma tests are covered by Original Medicare, but only for beneficiaries who are deemed to be at a high risk for the disease. Even corrective lenses are only covered by Original Medicare if they are needed as a result of cataract surgery.
