What Dental Services May Be Covered by a 2023 Cigna Medicare Plan?

While Medicare Part A and Part B (also called Original Medicare) do not cover most routine dental care, procedures or supplies, some Cigna Medicare Advantage plans can cover certain dental care services, which may include:

  • Routine cleanings
  • Exams
  • Fillings
  • Tooth extractions
  • Dentures
  • X-rays
  • Periodontics
  • Prosthodontics and oral surgery

The specific plan benefits, coverage and costs included in your plan will vary depending on which plan you have. Not all plans are available in all areas.

Does Cigna Cover Dental Implants?

Cigna dental insurance may help cover implants, depending on your plan.

For example, the Cigna Dental PPO plan covers major services such as surgical implants with no deductible and an annual maximum spending limit of $1,000 in 2022. The plan also covers dentures or other prostheses that are used along with the implants.

Not every Cigna Medicare plan covers dental implants or other restorative services, so be sure to talk with a licensed insurance agent about plan benefits before enrolling.

Some Cigna plans may not cover dental implants but provide a spending allowance that may be used to pay for qualified health care services, which may include dental implants.
