Certain Humana Medicare plans may cover vision services. You can find out if Original Medicare or your Humana Medicare plan may include coverage for vision services by reading the section below that correlates to your current coverage.
Original Medicare (Medicare Part A and Part B) includes some vision coverage, but it doesn’t cover most routine vision services, eyeglasses or contacts.1
An introductory, one-time vision test is included in your “Welcome to Medicare” preventive care visit when you get Medicare Part B coverage. Additional yearly visions tests are not covered. Medicare Part B covers some preventive or diagnostic eye exams.
Please note that Original Medicare is provided by the federal government, not private insurance companies like Humana.
Vision coverage is an additional benefit that some Medicare Advantage plans may offer.2
Vision coverage benefits may vary from plan to plan. If you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan with vision coverage, your insurance provider will detail what services and materials are included and what each costs.
Humana Medicare prescription drug plans don’t cover routine vision services.3 Your prescription drug plan may cover certain eye-related medications if your doctor deems them medically necessary. Check your plan’s formulary for more information.
