Terazosin is a medication used to treat high blood pressure and BPH. Terazosin is available as a brand name drug or as a generic and comes as an oral capsule.

Terazosin is a medication that is used to treat an enlarged prostate – called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) ­– and high blood pressure. The brand name equivalent of Terazosin is called Hytrin.

Terazosin blocks alpha receptors to treat BPH and helps relax blood vessels to treat high blood pressure. Terazosin is typically taken one time daily.

Common side effects of Terazosin include dizziness, stuffy nose and headache.
