Revatio is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction, as well as high blood pressure in the lungs. It is available as a brand name or generic drug and comes as an oral liquid and an oral tablet.

Revatio is a medication that contains the active ingredient Sildenafil. It is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), and also to treat high blood pressure in the lungs.

Revatio inhibits an enzyme called PDE-5 in the smooth muscle of the lungs to relax blood vessels and decrease blood pressure within the lungs. Blocking PDE-5 also helps increase blood flow to the penis.

Revatio is typically taken 1-3 times daily when treating high blood pressure in the lungs.

Side effects of Revatio include headache, heartburn, upset stomach, stuffy or runny nose, muscle pain, back pain, diarrhea, redness, nosebleeds and insomnia.
