Amazon Pharmacy has announced the expansion of its $5 monthly RxPass subscription to include Medicare beneficiaries. This service covers a range of generic drugs, providing access to over 60 medications, 24/7 pharmacist access, and free doorstep delivery for U.S. Prime members.

Originally launched in January 2023, RxPass aims to offer significant savings, with discounts up to 80% on generics and up to 40% on brand-name medicines. This expansion will make the service available to over 50 million additional people, potentially reducing Medicare spending by nearly $2 billion annually and lowering out-of-pocket costs for older adults.

Amazon Pharmacy’s Vice President, John Love, emphasized that RxPass improves medication adherence and health outcomes by increasing convenience and reducing costs. Medicare plan members could save approximately $70 annually per RxPass medication.

Once you're a member of Amazon Prime, then you'll need to subscribe to Amazon Pharmacy for an additional $5 per month.
