Whether or not your health care provider accepts your Amerigroup Medicare Advantage Plan will depend on the type of Amerigroup Medicare plan you have and your specific plan network.

Amerigroup offers a variety of Medicare Advantage Plans that each include a level of coverage for visits to different types of providers, such as dentists, pharmacists and primary care physicians (PCPs).

Do Amerigroup Medicare Advantage Plans have provider networks?

Amerigroup offers several types of Medicare Advantage Plans, called Amerivantage plans.

These plans include:

  • Amerivantage Classic (HMO)
  • Amerivantage Select (HMO)
  • Amerivantage Dual Premier (HMO SNP)
  • Amerivantage Balance (HMO)

With most Medicare health maintenance organization (HMO) plans, you typically select a primary care physician from within your plan provider network. Network coverage and plan availability may vary depending on where you live.

Your primary care physician can provide you with referrals to see specialists for specialized care within your plan provider network. You also typically receive preventive care and annual exams from your primary care provider.

Amerivantage plan benefits

Depending on the plan you choose, your plan may include $0 premiums and no deductible.

Amerigroup Medicare Advantage Plans combine your Medicare Part A hospital insurance benefits, Medicare Part B medical insurance benefits and Medicare prescription drug coverage into one simple plan.

Most Amerivantage plans also include extra benefits that aren’t covered by Original Medicare (Part A and Part B), such as:

  • Dental exams, routine teeth cleanings and an annual X-ray
  • Eye exams plus $125 for eyeglasses and contact lenses
  • Hearing exams plus $3,000 for hearing aids
  • SilverSneakers® membership
  • Non-emergency transportation services
  • Personal Emergency Response System
  • Online doctor visits (telehealth)
  • $80 allowance to spend on over-the-counter (OTC) health care items

All Amerigroup Medicare Advantage Plans include an annual out-of-pocket spending max, which Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) does not offer. This out-of-pocket cap can help protect you from spending potentially thousands of dollars in Medicare costs.

Your exact benefit will vary depending on the plan you choose.
